Update: September 20, 2023
The prototype has successfully grown tomatoes, cilantro, and mint.
Below is a list of prioritized issues and their corresponding solutions:
- Issue: When the plants grow more extensive, the water slowly splashes out from the top, which poses a fire risk from the electrical outlet.
- Solution: The new prototype will have multiple towers fed water from a single pressure vessel. A closed expansion tank has already been ordered to address this issue (please refer to the picture in the gallery).
- Issue: There is a low yield at the bottom of the tower, likely because the water isn’t dispensing evenly on the way down.
- Solution: The new prototype will have a design where the water sprays at multiple spots along the tower to ensure even distribution.
